In my studio practice I paint with acrylics. I also draw from models as often as I’m able. The Pandemic has challenged artists and models to use the tech tools given to us. Most of the drawing I’ve done for the past six sheltering months has been with models in online venues. It has been an opportunity to explore shape value and abstraction in new ways.

In my professional life I am a college professor who has taught various types of drawing for 35 years. The past 26 at CCA(C), where I have worked to develop the drawing curriculum for the Fashion Design Program. Currently I teach three drawing classes in the Illustration Program.

Over the past 15+ years I’ve come to draw almost exclusively with a brush. It’s an easy transition to painting the figure with acrylics in the same gestural energy I use with ink wash.
